Breaking The Biz Cast
Over the period of a decade Genevieve Clay-Smith has dedicated her filmmaking career to inclusion; developing and writing an entire accessible film studies curriculum, facilitating inclusive films and advocating for inclusion in the film industry. Throughout Breaking the Biz, Genevieve takes a class of students with intellectual disability through a 10 month filmmaking program.
Joni is a member of Bus Stop Films’ accessible film studies program and is also an ambassador for the organisation. Within Breaking the Biz, we track Joni’s progress over the course of her first-year learning film studies with the organisation, and watch her develop into a confident filmmaker and advocate.
Monica is the Support and Engagement Manager for Bus Stop Films, her role is to assist all student filmmakers to thrive and flourish in their studies and on set. During Breaking the Biz she reflects on her journey with Bus Stop and the impact she’s witnessed the organisation have on the lives of so many people with intellectual disability and their families.
Wendy Campbell was told that her daughter, Joni, would never dance on the stage and now, she’s making movies with Bus Stop Films. During Breaking the Biz Wendy reflects on Joni’s journey and involvement in Bus Stop Films and the impact that the organisation has had on her daughter’s life.
